Field Service Engineer –

Industrial Equipment

About the Role

we are seeking a practical, reliable, and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to provide technical service and support for industrial pumps, fluid control equipment, vacuum systems, and related machinery.

Equipment reliability is essential to industrial production. Unexpected failures, incorrect installation, or inadequate maintenance can lead to downtime, increased operating costs, and disruptions to customer operations. Our Field Service Engineers help customers maintain safe and reliable equipment performance through professional installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

In this position, you will work directly with customers at industrial facilities and project sites. You will diagnose equipment issues, perform maintenance activities, document service findings, and coordinate with internal engineering teams to identify effective solutions.

You will also provide technical guidance to customers and help communicate field experience back to the company. Your observations can contribute to product improvements, better service procedures, and more effective technical support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, practical problem-solving, industrial environments, and direct customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial equipment at customer sites.

  • Support equipment startup and verify that installation conditions meet applicable technical requirements.

  • Inspect mechanical components, connections, couplings, bearings, seals, and other relevant equipment parts.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, or system-related issues within the scope of your training and authorization.

  • Investigate abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakage, pressure, flow, and operating performance.

  • Collect operating data and record relevant measurements during inspections and troubleshooting.

  • Identify potential causes of equipment failure and recommend corrective actions.

  • Replace or repair components according to approved service procedures and technical documentation.

  • Assist with equipment disassembly, inspection, overhaul, reassembly, alignment, and testing where applicable.

  • Support commissioning activities and confirm that equipment operates according to the agreed requirements.

  • Communicate technical findings and recommended actions clearly to customers.

  • Prepare detailed service reports documenting inspections, measurements, repairs, replacement parts, and follow-up requirements.

  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and service management to investigate recurring technical problems.

  • Provide guidance on proper equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

  • Support customer training and distributor technical training when required.

  • Maintain accurate service records and comply with company reporting procedures.

  • Follow customer site rules, applicable safety requirements, and company service standards.

  • Travel to customer locations as required by business needs.

Field Service and Troubleshooting

You will use a structured approach to identify the cause of equipment problems rather than relying on assumptions or replacing components unnecessarily.

Typical activities may include reviewing equipment operating history, inspecting installation conditions, checking operating parameters, evaluating component wear, measuring vibration or temperature, and comparing actual performance with expected operating conditions.

When a problem requires additional technical analysis, you will work with internal engineering specialists and provide the information needed to support root-cause investigation.

You will also help customers understand the difference between immediate corrective actions and longer-term improvements that may reduce the likelihood of repeated failures.

Safety and Customer Service

Safety is a fundamental responsibility of every Field Service Engineer.

You must follow applicable site procedures, equipment isolation requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and relevant workplace safety regulations. You should be prepared to stop work and report unsafe conditions whenever necessary.

As a representative of [Company Name], you will be expected to communicate professionally, respect customer facilities, maintain accurate records, and provide practical recommendations based on technical evidence.

The ability to explain technical issues clearly and establish trust with customers is just as important as the ability to diagnose equipment problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.

  • Experience with industrial machinery, pumps, rotating equipment, vacuum systems, fluid control equipment, or related products.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and service instructions.

  • Understanding of mechanical assemblies, bearings, couplings, seals, alignment, and maintenance procedures.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and customer-service abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal technical teams.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred Experience

Experience in equipment commissioning, industrial maintenance, pump servicing, vibration analysis, mechanical seals, rotating machinery, preventive maintenance, or industrial process systems will be an advantage.

Experience with electrical controls, instrumentation, troubleshooting documentation, and customer training is also desirable, depending on the equipment involved.

What We Offer

With us you will have the opportunity to develop hands-on expertise in industrial equipment, technical service, commissioning, and troubleshooting. You will work with different customer applications and gain experience across the equipment lifecycle, from installation to maintenance and performance improvement.

Career development opportunities may include Senior Field Service Engineer, Service Supervisor, Technical Support Engineer, Commissioning Specialist, or Service Manager.

How to Apply

If you have a strong technical background and enjoy helping customers solve real industrial problems, we encourage you to apply.
